Our History

DTMP was formed in 1947 as Laclede Metal Products Company. It was located on South Jefferson Street in Lebanon, MO until the company moved in 1952 to its present location at 949 Bethel Road within the same city.

Originally, DTMP was founded for the principal purpose of manufacturing pole line anchors for the Jasper Blackburn Company. (This product line was discontinued in 1963). In 1955, DTMP began building replacement mufflers. The universal muffler concept was introduced in the early 1960's and became known as the Golden Line Muffler. The Garden Maid division, which was located in what is now known as DTMP's weld shop, began with six employees in 1975. Garden Maid produced soil blenders and electric tillers, though DTMP was becoming renowned as a contract metal stamping and fabrication plant with the additional capabilities of welding, assembling and painting of metal parts.

In 1995, the company underwent a 55,000-sq. ft. expansion. In 1997, DTMP purchased its Light Press Facility, which added 30,000-sq. ft. of manufacturing space. Today, DTMP currently houses 200,000-sq. ft. of manufacturing space.

DTMP was acquired on June 29, 2001 by an investment group that included four of DTMP's current managers.  Today, DTMP services the heavy duty class 8 truck market, the agriculture market, the appliance industry and light duty class 5-6 truck markets.

DTMP is a full service provider to its customer with processes that include:  tooling, stamping, fabrication, weldments, paint and modular assemblies.  As an ISO 9002 supplier since 1994; DTMP was ISO 9001:2000 certified in May of 2003, and remains current with its certification.
