Estimator

Employees of DTMP are bringing world class metal products to a very competitive market with great success leading the company to grow and gain in customer loyalty.  To join this team the ideal applicant must have a history of excellence at work, high level of vendor and customer satisfaction, effective problem solving and teamwork.  We are in the process of building a Center of Engineering Excellence and have openings for an Estimator as we grow to meet our customer’s demands.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

To establish the cost per part, production and assembly methods, tools and equipment required to service the customer and provide the company with a fair profit.

specific job RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Establishes professional and friendly communication with all customers
  2. Analyze the customer request for quotation and determine the suitability of the work
  3. Assess quality expectation of customer and incorporates quality requirements in the cost per part
  4. Recommends sequence and number of die stages to produce completed parts
  5. Estimates production time, staffing requirements, and cost for new manufacturing projects, using statistical methods.
  6. Provides the customer with a written obligation describing the cost per part based on quantity ordered
  7. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years work experience in metal stamping manufacturing.
  • Proficient technical knowledge in :

    Metal material and parts                                                Statistical methods
    Tooling and Tooling capabilities                         Demonstrated analytical skills  
    Blueprint reading and G.D.T.                                        Strong math skills         
    Assembly methods                                                        Methods of Production
    Quality Control Standards

  • Effective written and oral communication skills to gain cooperation of staff and interface with customers.

Physical requirements:

    1. Mobility to move about shop
    2. Dexterity to rapidly enter data using 10 key
    3. Visual acuity to see objects on computer screen
    4. Speech and hearing capacity appropriate for frequent person to person and phone based conversations and meetings
