Quality Manager

Employees of DTMP are bringing world class metal products to a very competitive market with great success leading the company to grow and gain in customer loyalty.  To join this team the ideal applicant must have a history of excellence at work, high level of vendor and customer satisfaction, effective problem solving and teamwork.  We are in the process of building a Center of Engineering Excellence and have openings for a Quality Manager as we grow to meet our customer’s demands.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:

Establish and implement a strategic quality plan, identifying specific targets for improvement to meet certification requirements of Customers, maintain ISO meetings, audits and follow up requirements, perform supplier audits and plan for continuous process improvement.

KEY PARTS OF THE POSTION:

  1. Design and implement a strategic quality plan, identifying specific targets for improvement to meet certification requirements of Customers.  The Quality Plan will include:

Contract review Design control
Document control
Supplier audits
Purchasing and Purchaser – Supplied product controls
Product identification and traceability techniques
Process control
Inspection and testing methods
Measurement and test equipment calibrations
Inspection and test status marking
Control of non-conforming product
Corrective action plan,
Handling, storage, packaging and delivery controls
Quality recordkeeping
Quality internal audits
Training
Statistical Techniques

  1. Establish effective process control procedures utilizing special and standard quality control methods.
  2. Investigate, document, and analyze the causes of defects and recommend      corrective actions.
  3.  Manage the quality assurance and quality control departments to ensure implementation of plan.
  4. Coordinate the Quality Plan Implementation Taskforce that includes Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations departments to implement quality plan.
  5. Liaison with Customer representatives to describe quality plans, quality data, corrective action results.
  6. Audit the quality plan and establish time targets and action plans to meet strategic quality objectives.
  7. Supervise departmental personnel; inspectors and CMM operators.

 

QUALIFICATIONS for job:

At least 8 years experience in Quality Control/Assurance in metal trades manufacturing.
At least 3 year Quality experience in decision making professional or managerial position.
Significant accomplishment in implementing/maintaining a quality program that meets ISO requirements.
Demonstrated competence in:

Inspection & Testing
Reliability Studies
FMEA & Corrective Action
Quality Cost Analysis
Quality Information Systems


Effective oral and written Communication skills tailored to target audience.
Degree in quality/engineering/manufacturing related areas.
Certification by ASQ as Quality Engineer preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

Office/laboratory work setting.
Mobility to move about manufacturing facility to inspect operations.
Visual acuity to read gauges and dials.
Dexterity to operate precision instruments and input data on computer keyboard.
Communication skills to use telephone to communicate with Customers and co-workers.
Ability to use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and hearing protection.
Tolerance for noisy, hot manufacturing environment that may include some aerosol mists from washing/painting and welding activities, and cooling/cutting fluids from machinery operation.
