Quality Manager

Employees of DTMP are bringing world class metal products to a very competitive market with great success leading the company to grow and gain in customer loyalty.  To join this team the ideal applicant must have a history of excellence at work, high level of vendor and customer satisfaction, effective problem solving and teamwork.  We are in the process of building a Center of Engineering Excellence and have openings for a Quality Manager as we grow to meet our customer’s demands.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:

Establish and implement a strategic quality plan, identifying specific targets for improvement to meet certification requirements of Customers, maintain ISO meetings, audits and follow up requirements, perform supplier audits and plan for continuous process improvement.

job specific RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement a strategic quality plan
  • Establish effective process control procedures utilizing special and standard quality control methods
  • Investigate, document, and analyze the causes of defects and recommend corrective actions
  • Manage the quality departments to ensure implementation of plans
  • Coordinate the Quality Plan Implementation Taskforce that includes Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations departments to implement quality plant
  • Liaison with Customer Service to describe quality plans, quality data, and corrective actions results
  • Audit the quality plan and establish time targets and action plans to meet strategic quality objectives
  • Supervise departmental personnel; inspectors and CMM operators
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS (Preferred):

Specific Experience:  At least 8 years experience in Quality Control/Assurance in metal manufacturing,
At least 3 years Quality experience in decision making professional or managerial position
Formal Education:   Bachelor’s Degree in quality/engineering/manufacturing related areas
Certifications:  Certification by ASQ as Quality Engineer
Skills: Competence in concepts of Probability and Statistics, Statistical Process Control and Controls Charts, Acceptance and Variables samplings, Quality Planning and Budgeting, Measurements and Control Systems, Inspection and Testing, Reliability Studies, FMEA and Corrective Action, Quality Cost Analysis, Quality Information Systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

  • Vision acuity, corrected or uncorrected, capable of reading documents, computer screens, etc.
  • Speech and hearing capacity appropriate for frequent person to person and phone based conversations and meetings.
  • Able to move about weld and fabrication plant with walking and other manufacturing environment hazards. 

PPE:

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to be worn when on  production floor: Hearing protection, safety glasses and steel toe work boots or shoes.
